Seven Nomination Papers Filed on Second Day of Chhattisgarh Assembly ElectionsChhattisgarh, October 16, 2023
TFP Bureau, Raipur; Oct 16, 2023: In a significant development on the second day of the Chhattisgarh Assembly General Elections, a total of seven nomination papers were filed by six candidates for the first phase, encompassing 20 assembly constituencies in the state. The electoral enthusiasm was particularly evident in Rajnandgaon and Dongargarh, where three and two nominations were submitted, respectively.
The nomination process for the initial phase of the election, which covers 12 constituencies of the Bastar division, including Rajnandgaon, Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, and Kabirdham districts, commenced with great fervor. Candidates have until October 20 to file their nomination papers for the 20 seats in the first phase, with scrutiny scheduled for October 21.
Candidates can withdraw their nominations until October 23.
The electorate will cast their votes for the first phase on November 7, while the crucial counting process for both phases is slated for December 3.
In this first phase, the following constituencies will be subject to voting:
Konta, Bijapur, Dantewada, Chitrakot, Jagdalpur, Bastar, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Keshkal, Kanker, Bhanupratapur, Antagarh, Mohla-Manpur, Khujji, Dongargaon, Rajnandgaon, Dongargarh, Khairagarh, Kawardha, and Pandariya assembly constituencies.
