64 Nomination Papers Filed on the Fourth Day for the Upcoming Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections

  • Total of 60 Candidates Submit 87 Nomination Papers for the First Phase

TFP Bureau, Raipur; Oct 18, 2023: The fourth day of nomination filings for the Chhattisgarh Assembly General Election 2023 saw a total of 64 nomination papers submitted for the 20 assembly constituencies in the first phase. As of now, 60 candidates have filed a combined total of 87 nomination papers for this phase.

The distribution of nominations was as follows: 6 submissions each for Pandariya and Bhanupratappur assembly constituencies, 5 each for Kanker and Dantewada, 4 each for Kawardha, Dongargaon, and Antagarh, 3 each for Khairagarh, Mohla-Manpur, Keshkal, Bastar, Bijapur, and Konta, and 2 each for Rajnandgaon, Khujji, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, and Chitrakote. Notably, no nomination papers were filed for the Jagdalpur assembly constituency on Wednesday.

This phase of nominations encompasses 12 constituencies in the Bastar division, including 8 assembly constituencies in Rajnandgaon, Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, and Kabirdham districts.The deadline for filing nomination papers for the first phase of the elections, conducted in two phases, is October 20. Nomination papers will undergo scrutiny on October 21, and candidates can withdraw their names until October 23. The first phase of voting is scheduled for November 7, while the counting of votes for both phases will occur on December 3.

In this first phase, voting will take place for the assembly constituencies of Konta, Bijapur, Dantewada, Chitrakot, Jagdalpur, Bastar, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Keshkal, Kanker, Bhanupratapur, Antagarh, Mohla-Manpur, Khujji, Dongargaon, Rajnandgaon, Dongargarh, Khairagarh, Kawardha, and Pandariya.
