Chhattisgarh Assembly Election 2023: Notification Issued for Second Phase, Nomination Process Begins

  • Candidates Can File Nominations for 70 Constituencies

TFP Bureau, Raipur; Oct 22, 2023 – The electoral machinery in Chhattisgarh has been set in motion as the notification for the second phase of the Assembly General Election 2023 was issued on October 21. This phase encompasses a total of 70 assembly constituencies, and the nomination process has officially commenced.

On the inaugural day for nominations in the second phase, five candidates submitted their nomination papers. Each candidate represented one of the following assembly constituencies: Premnagar, Raigarh, Marwahi, Bilaigarh, and Rajim.

The second phase of the Assembly Elections 2023 includes a significant number of assembly constituencies from Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, and Surguja divisions, totaling 70 in all. As per the schedule, candidates have until October 30, 2023, to file their nomination papers for this phase. The scrutiny of these nominations will be carried out on October 31, and the last date for candidates to withdraw their names is November 2.

The constituencies participating in the second phase include Bharatpur-Sonhat, Manendragarh, Baikunthpur, Premnagar, Bhatgaon, Pratappur, Ramanujganj, Samri, Lundra, Ambikapur, Sitapur, Jashpur, Kunkuri, Pathalgaon, Lailunga, Raigarh, Sarangarh, Kharsia, Dharamjaigarh, Rampur, Korba, Katghora, Pali-Tanakhar, Marwahi, Kota, Lormi, Mungeli, Takhatpur, Bilha, Bilaspur, Beltara, Masturi, Akaltara, Janjgir-Champa, Sakti, Chandrapur, Jaijapur, Pamgarh, Saraipali, Basna, Khallari, Mahasamund, Bilaigarh, Kasdol, Balodabazar, Bhatapara, Dharsiwa, Raipur Rural, Raipur Nagar West, Raipur Nagar North, Raipur Nagar South, Arang, Abhanpur, Rajim, Bindranwagarh, Sihawa, Kurud, Dhamtari, Sanjari Balod, Dondilohara, Gunderdehi, Patan, Durg Rural, Durg City, Bhilai Nagar, Vaishali Nagar, Ahiwara, Saja, Bemetara, and Navagarh.

Voting for these constituencies will take place on November 17, 2023, with the counting of votes for both the first and second phases scheduled for December 3, 2023. The election season is in full swing, and the stage is set for candidates to make their voices heard and vie for the support of the electorate.
