Chhattisgarh Assembly Election 2023: 59 Nominations Filed for Second Phase

  • 43 Candidates Submit 64 Nomination Papers for 70 Constituencies

TFP Bureau, Raipur; Oct 23, 2023: The process of filing nomination papers for the upcoming Assembly General Election 2023 in Chhattisgarh is in full swing. Today marks the second day for the nomination process for the 70 assembly constituencies in the second phase. A total of 59 nomination papers were submitted today. Notably, the highest number of nomination papers, with four each, were filed in the Ahiwara and Sakti assembly constituencies.

Nominations were also filed from the following assembly constituencies: Chandrapur, Jaijapur, Raipur Rural (3 each), Daundilohara (3), Manendragarh (2), Kota (2), Masturi (2), Bilaigarh (2), Kurud (2), Durg City (2), Bhilai Nagar (2), Saja (2), Bemetara (2), Katghora (2), Bharatpur-Sonhat (2), Baikunthpur (2), Premnagar (2), Bhatgaon (2), and Pratappur, Ramanujganj, Samri, Lundra, Ambikapur, Sitapur, Jashpur, Kunkuri, Pathalgaon, Lailunga, Raigarh, Sarangarh, Kharsia, Dharamjaigarh, Rampur, and many others (1 each). To date, a total of 43 candidates have submitted 64 nomination papers for the assembly constituencies in the second phase.

This phase comprises 70 assembly constituencies from Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, and Surguja divisions. Candidates have until October 30, 2023, to file their nominations for this phase. The scrutiny of these nominations is scheduled for October 31, with the last date for candidates to withdraw their nominations set for November 2.

Candidates and political parties are gearing up for the elections in these constituencies, with voting scheduled for November 17, 2023. The results for both the first and second phases will be counted and announced on December 3, 2023, marking an important milestone in Chhattisgarh’s electoral journey.
