Over 2.03 Crore Voters Set to Participate in Chhattisgarh Assembly Election-2023

TFP Bureau, Raipur; Nov 1, 2023: The upcoming Chhattisgarh Assembly Election-2023 is set to witness a massive voter turnout, with more than 2.03 crore registered voters poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the state’s political landscape. This significant electorate will participate in the elections conducted in two phases, further exemplifying the vibrant democratic spirit of the state.
As per statistics from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, the gender balance is skewed towards female voters, with the number of women voters surpassing that of men across the 90 assembly constituencies in the state. Notably, Chhattisgarh’s capital, Raipur, boasts the highest number of third-gender voters in the northern region, with 96 individuals set to exercise their voting rights.
In addition to the diverse demographic representation, the election features 7,29,267 voters aged between 18 and 19, marking their initiation into the democratic process. Among the total 2,03,93,160 registered voters, 1,01,35,561 are male, while 1,02,56,846 are female, underscoring the balanced gender participation in the election. A unique highlight of this election is the presence of 2,457 centenarian voters, symbolizing their long-standing engagement in the democratic process.
The Election Commission has extended postal ballot voting privileges to citizens above 80 years of age and those with a disability exceeding 40 percent. In response, 6,447 voters with disabilities have chosen to cast their ballots via postal ballots, ensuring that every voice is heard. Furthermore, the election will see participation from 19,907 service voters, as well as 17 overseas Indian voters, collectively reflecting the democratic fervor and inclusivity of the electoral process in Chhattisgarh.
