NMDC Achieves Historic Milestone in Iron Ore Production and Sales
- Record-Breaking Performance Marks Company’s Historic Achievement in October 2023
TFP Bureau, Hyderabad, Nov 2, 2023: NMDC, India’s largest iron ore producer, made an extraordinary mark in its history by recording its highest performance ever, achieving a production of 3.92 million metric tonnes (MnT) and sales of 3.44 MnT of iron ore in October 2023. The mining giant showcased an 11% growth in both production and sales figures for October 2023 compared to the corresponding period last year.
Stellar Growth in Production and Sales Figures
NMDC’s cumulative production until October ’23 reached 23.48 MnT, marking a substantial 19% surge compared to the production by October ’22, which stood at 19.71 MnT. Correspondingly, cumulative sales until October escalated by 23%, soaring from 19.44 MnT to 23.99 MnT.
In response to this remarkable achievement, Shri Amitava Mukherjee, CMD (Additional Charge), extended his congratulations to the team, remarking, “These figures serve as the wind beneath our wings as we ascend towards the 50 MnT production target. Consistently setting new records each month reflects the resilient spirit of Team NMDC. Our confidence in digitalization, investments in technology, and commitment to responsible mining will significantly contribute to fortifying the future of the mining industry in India.”
