TFP Bureau, Raipur, Nov 28, 2023: In a vibrant celebration of Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas), the Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy came alive with festivity on November 26, 2023. The event, held under the guidance of Shri Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice, and Patron-in-Chief of the Academy, witnessed distinguished guests and legal luminaries coming together to commemorate the occasion.
Despite the Chief Justice’s absence due to prior commitments in Delhi for Constitution Day celebrations, he extended his heartfelt wishes to all judges in Chhattisgarh. Notable figures such as Hon’ble Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas and Hon’ble Justice Rakesh Mohan Pandey, Judges of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, graced the event with their presence.
A significant part of the celebration included the reading of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, symbolizing the fundamental principles and values enshrined in the legal framework. District Judges from across the state, officials from the Hon’ble High Court Registry, and judges posted in Bilaspur district actively participated in the event
As the chief guest, Honorable High Court Justice Shri Narendra Kumar Vyas emphasized the judges’ pivotal role in simplifying the justice system and connecting people to it, thereby upholding the Constitution’s ideals. He underscored the responsibilities of the judiciary in ensuring transparent and complete justice, emphasizing the constitutional rights provided to citizens.
Highlighting the uniqueness of the Indian Constitution, Justice Vyas outlined the societal, familial, and individual needs addressed by the Constitution, distinguishing it from other countries. He stressed the importance of rights as necessities, not privileges, echoing the principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity embedded in the Preamble.
Special guest Justice Shri Rakesh Kumar Pandey echoed the significance of the Indian Constitution, emphasizing its role in safeguarding fundamental rights while protecting citizens’ interests. He commemorated Constitution Day, acknowledging the contributions of those instrumental in shaping the Indian constitution.
Under the Chief Justice’s guidance, the Academy organized a colloquium of all district Judges, providing a platform to discuss challenges faced by the District Judiciary and explore potential solutions. This session became a forum for addressing issues within the judiciary and proposing steps toward resolution.
Chief Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha’s transformative leadership in the Chhattisgarh High Court has brought about positive changes in the state’s judiciary. In his seven-month tenure, he visited all districts, actively addressing challenges in District Courts, and instigating a notable shift in the working dynamics of the district judiciary. Noteworthy initiatives, including the installation of Mahatma Gandhi’s bust, the Preamble of the Constitution, and the national emblem at the Chhattisgarh High Court, reflect his commitment to upholding the dignity of the judiciary and aligning every action with the constitutional spirit.
