Arun Sao’s Advocacy and Political Journey
Arun Sao, hailing from Lohariya, assumed the role of Deputy Chief Minister after taking the oath at Science College Ground. With an extensive career spanning 33 years, Sao has been a prominent figure in both advocacy and politics. Having obtained his B.Com from SNG College, Mungeli, and LLB from Kaushalendra Rao Law College, Bilaspur, he commenced his legal practice at Civil Court Mungeli in 1996. Subsequently, he extended his practice to Chhattisgarh High Court, Bilaspur, holding esteemed positions such as Deputy Government Advocate, Legal Advocate, and Deputy Advocate General.
Sao’s political journey saw him contesting and winning the Bilaspur Lok Sabha seat in the seventeenth Lok Sabha. As an MP, he fervently addressed the issues of Bilaspur district and articulated the challenges and requirements of Chhattisgarh. Hailing from the Sav Sahu community and a farmer family, Sao’s active involvement in various areas of public life reflects his commitment to serving the people.
Vijay Sharma’s Ascent: From District Panchayat Member to Deputy CM
Vijay Sharma, the newly sworn-in Deputy Chief Minister from Kawardha, embarked on his political journey from being a member of Kabirdham District Panchayat to attaining the prestigious position of Deputy Chief Minister.
Born on July 19, 1973, in a farmer family, Vijay Sharma’s academic pursuits led him to a postgraduate degree in Physics, supplemented by a Diploma in English Language. Sharma’s engagement in public life commenced during his student days, evolving into a successful political career that culminated in his victory in the 2023 assembly elections from the Kawardha constituency.
Sharma, distinguished by his keen interest in cricket, tourism, poetry recitation, and public speaking, has actively participated in state-level competitions and earned accolades in athletics. His multifaceted interests extend to cultural activities, tourism, and literature. Fluent in Chhattisgarhi, Hindi, and English, Deputy CM Vijay Sharma’s commitment to the welfare of the people has been unwavering, making him a notable figure in Chhattisgarh’s political landscape.
The swearing-in ceremony, graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a host of dignitaries, marked a historic moment for Chhattisgarh, witnessed by thousands at the Science College grounds.
