Chhattisgarh Congress Initiates ‘Donate for Desh’ Crowdfunding Campaign

The funds raised will be utilized for initiatives aimed at building a better India

TFP Bureau, Raipur; Dec 16, 2023: In a bid to harness public support and financial contributions, the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee is set to launch the ‘Donate for Desh’ crowdfunding campaign on December 18. Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge will inaugurate the campaign from Delhi, as announced by Congress General Secretary in-charge K.C. Venugopal and Treasurer Ajay Maken.

Marking the completion of 138 years of the Congress Party, State Congress Communication Department Chairman Sushil Anand Shukla shared that the campaign encourages citizens to contribute multiples of Rs 138 (e.g., Rs 138, Rs 1,380, Rs 13,800, or more). The funds raised will be utilized for initiatives aimed at building a better India.

The Congress Party has established two channels for online crowdfunding – a dedicated portal, donateinc.in, and the official Indian National Congress website, www.inc.in. Sushil Anand Shukla highlighted that the online phase of the campaign will run until December 28, the Congress Party’s Foundation Day, following which a ground campaign will be initiated.

During the ground campaign, party volunteers will visit households, targeting at least 10 houses in each booth and aiming for a minimum contribution of Rs 138 from each house. State-level officials, elected representatives, district presidents, state presidents, and office bearers of the Indian National Congress will be encouraged to contribute at least Rs 1,380.

Contributors must be Indian citizens above 18 years of age, and they will receive a donation certificate as acknowledgment. To commemorate the 138th Foundation Day of the Congress Party, a massive rally is planned in Nagpur on December 28, with an expected participation of at least one million people.

Sushil Anand Shukla, Chairman of the Congress Communication Department, Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee, expressed optimism about the campaign’s success in fostering citizen participation and financial support for the party’s initiatives.
