TFP Bureau, Raipur; Dec 18, 2023: The first session of the Sixth Legislative Assembly of Chhattisgarh is set to commence on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. In the inaugural meeting, honorable members will take the oath. The session will feature a special address by the Governor on December 20 at 11:00 am.
As the Legislative Assembly Secretariat gears up for the first session, the premises are being adorned with flower garlands and rangoli to extend a warm welcome to the newly elected members. The Assembly Chowk is undergoing a facelift, displaying new aesthetics. The complex is being enriched with paintings showcasing folk art and culture, creating an ambiance of vibrancy. On the opening day, all newly elected MLAs will receive floral bouquets at the main gate, accompanied by traditional folk dances highlighting the rich culture of Chhattisgarh.
In anticipation of the session, stringent security measures have been implemented. Admittance to the Legislative Assembly premises is restricted to individuals possessing valid admit cards, along with a mandatory institute identity card or Aadhar card. Security personnel will maintain a vigilant presence across the premises and galleries, allowing only MLAs to access the VIP gate. Special arrangements have been made for workers accompanying MLAs and their families to witness live proceedings via a large screen in the auditorium, with entry through gate number 1.
The inaugural session, beginning on December 19, will witness the swearing-in of honorable members and the election of the Honorable Speaker. Doordarshan (Chhattisgarh) will broadcast the entire proceeding live, starting from 11:00 am until the election of the Honorable Speaker is concluded.
The Honorable Governor is scheduled to address the assembly on December 20, 2023, at 11:00 am, and this address will also be telecast live on Doordarshan (Chhattisgarh). Viewers can tune in to channel number 1174 on the Tata Sky platform to catch the live broadcast.
