Chief Minister and State Mourn the Passing of Shri Nandkumar Baghel

TFP Bureau, Raipur; January 9, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai expressed profound sorrow over the demise of Shri Nandkumar Baghel, the father of former Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel. Offering heartfelt condolences, he prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace and extended his sympathies to the grieving family.

Former CM Shri Bhupesh Baghel shared the news in a tweet, stating, “With sadness, we have to inform that Babuji Shri Nand Kumar Baghel ji has passed away this morning. Presently the body has been kept in Patan Sadan. After my younger sister returns from abroad, the last rites will be held on 10th January in our home village Kuruddih.”

State Mourns the Loss of Nandkumar Baghel

Prominent leaders and dignitaries from across the country, including Governor Vishwabhushan Harichandan, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhkhu, Kamal Nath, PL Punia, Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot, Vivek Tankha, Kumari Seleja, BK Hariprasad, and many others, paid tribute to the late Nandkumar Baghel, father of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai also offered his respects.

In a condolence message on Twitter, BJP leader Shri Brajmohan Agrawal expressed heartfelt condolences, stating, “I have just received the news of the demise of Shri Nandkumar Baghel ji, father of former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh @bhupeshbaghel ji. In this hour of grief, I express my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved Baghel family. I pray to God to give strength to the family on this sad occasion and grant peace to the departed soul.”

State Congress President Deepak Badge highlighted Nandkumar Baghel’s role as a champion of the underprivileged, stating, “Late Nandkumar Baghel was the flag bearer of the underprivileged. His socialist thinking is still relevant today. I pray to God to give them a place at their feet and give the family the strength to bear this sorrow.”
