TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 24, 2024: In a move aimed at streamlining the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system and ensuring transparency, transfer orders have been issued for 21 officers and employees of the Commercial Tax Department.
The orders include the transfer of 5 Joint Commissioners of State Tax, 2 Deputy Commissioners of State Tax, 12 Assistant Commissioners of State Tax, one State Tax Officer, and one Inspector of State Tax, all of whom were serving in the Commercial Tax GST Department. These decisions were formally communicated by the Office of the State Tax Commissioner.
Highlighting the significance of these transfers, Mr. O.P. Chaudhary, the Departmental Minister, emphasized that the GST department plays a pivotal role not only for businesses but also for the general public. The objective behind these transfer orders is to expedite departmental processes with increased transparency. Minister Chaudhary further disclosed plans for the GST Department to conduct workshops for traders periodically, providing them with updated information on regulations. Additionally, he mentioned the Central Government’s directives for the department to focus on disseminating information about rules and enhancing the ease of doing business.
Minister O.P. Chaudhary underscored the importance of the Commercial Tax Department and urged departmental officers to strictly adhere to government guidelines. He emphasized the need for stringent action against officers and employees displaying negligence in their duties. Conversely, those demonstrating excellent performance should be recognized and rewarded to foster a culture of discipline and efficiency among the workforce.
The transfer orders specifically target officers and employees who have remained in the same positions for an extended period, and against whom complaints have been lodged. Simultaneously, individuals excelling in their roles have been reassigned to new postings. The overarching objective is to facilitate departmental operations with heightened transparency, ensuring that the Commercial Tax Department functions effectively in serving businesses and citizens alike.
