TFP Bureau, Raipur; January 30, 2024: The state of Chhattisgarh has witnessed a significant surge in paddy procurement at support prices, reaching a remarkable milestone. As of January 30, the total procurement has reached 138.78 lakh metric tons.
This year, Chhattisgarh is procuring 21 quintals of paddy from farmers at a rate of 21 quintals per acre, ensuring the fulfillment of the Prime Minister’s guarantee. In recognition of farmers’ contributions, a total payment of Rs 28,708 crore has been disbursed for the purchase of 138.78 lakh metric tons of paddy during the current marketing year.
The General Manager of Markfed reported that 24,18,694 farmers in the state have actively participated in selling paddy at the support price. It’s noteworthy that a total of 26,85,000 farmers have registered to sell paddy at the support price in the state.
In tandem with paddy procurement, custom milling operations are also progressing concurrently in the state. Millers are actively lifting paddy from the procurement centers. As of now, Delivery Orders (DO) have been issued for the lifting of 102,37,525 metric tons of paddy, out of which millers have successfully lifted 92,38,000 metric tons of paddy.
