TFP Bureau, Raipur; January 31,2024: The much-anticipated transfer list of IPS officers in Chhattisgarh is expected to be unveiled today. Speculation about extensive transfers of police officers arose with the change in government. While the transfer list for 89 IAS officers was promptly released on January 3, the list for IPS officers is yet to be made public.
Sources reveal that the administration has finalized the IPS officers’ transfer list, awaiting the green signal for its release. As the announcement of Lok Sabha elections draws near, it is highly likely that SPs (Superintendents of Police) with tenures of two to two and a half years will be transferred. Some officers are also under scrutiny due to their association with the previous government. More than a dozen SPs across the state might undergo simultaneous changes, and discussions indicate potential shifts for some IGs (Inspector Generals) as well.
Potential Changes in Leadership
Speculations are circulating that Korba SP Jitendra Shukla might retain his position, given his extensive tenure in the battalion during the previous government. Officers like Ajatshatru Bahadur Singh, Shashimohan Singh, and Rajnesh Singh from the battalion are anticipated to secure significant postings. Lal Umend Singh might be relocated near or within the capital.
Prospects of Promotions
Reports suggest that promotions are due for IPS officers, with the DPC (Departmental Promotion Committee) file having reached the Home Minister’s office. The file has received approval and has been returned to the ministry. There are indications that the DPC might be finalized by the evening, encompassing selection grade promotions and advancements for DIGs (Deputy Inspector Generals) and IGs.
