Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain Directs Officials for Seamless Execution of Mahtari Vandan Scheme

TFP Bureau, Raipur; February 3, 2024: Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, in a virtual meeting from the Raipur office, issued crucial instructions to officials for the effective implementation of the government’s significant Mahtari Vandan scheme. Emphasizing the need for timely programs, he urged officials to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries across the state benefit from the scheme. Special camps at the Gram Panchayat and urban body levels are to be organized to facilitate applications, providing support and facilities to the beneficiaries.

The meeting, attended by Divisional Commissioners, Collectors, and Chief Executive Officers of District Panchayats, focused on the comprehensive execution of Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department, Mrs. Shammi Abidi, provided detailed insights into the scheme during the session.

To enhance the outreach of Mahtari Vandan Yojana, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain instructed officials to establish control rooms at both district and state levels. The control rooms are tasked with offering satisfactory information to beneficiaries and providing full support during the application process. The scheme, aimed at fostering the economic self-reliance of women and improving their health and nutrition, offers Rs 1,000 assistance to eligible married women aged 21 and above, including widows, divorcees, and abandoned individuals who are permanent residents of Chhattisgarh.

In the quest for accessibility, applicants can register online through the official portal [https://www.mahtarivandan.cgstate.gov.in] and the mobile app, using login IDs from Anganwadi centers, Gram Panchayat Secretaries (Village Incharge), or Child Development Project Offices. Urban areas can utilize the login ID of the ward in-charge for application submissions. Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain stressed the importance of a streamlined process and called for special attention to the convenience of the beneficiaries throughout the implementation of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana.
