TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 4, 2024: In a significant move towards women empowerment, the Chhattisgarh state government is set to implement the Mahtari Vandan Yojana starting March 1, 2024. This initiative aims to support local residents and married women in the state, providing eligible candidates with a monthly payment of Rs 1000 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
To be eligible, married women must be at least 21 years old as of January 1 in the calendar year of application. The scheme extends its support to widows, divorced, and abandoned women. Applications for the Mahtari Vandan Yojana will be accepted both online and offline, starting from February 5, 2024, with the deadline for submission set on February 20, 2024.
The application process requires essential documents, including a self-attested passport-size photograph, residence certificate (for local residents), ration card or voter identity card, Aadhar cards of the woman and her husband, PAN cards, marriage certificate, and certificates issued by Gram Panchayat and local bodies. Additionally, documents such as the husband’s death certificate or certificates of abandonment are required for widows and abandoned women. Educational certificates and other relevant documents are also part of the application process.
Applicants can apply through the online portal (https://www.mahtarivandan.cgstate.gov.in) or the dedicated mobile app. Moreover, the application can be submitted through Anganwadi Centers, Gram Panchayat Secretaries, Child Development Project Offices, and Ward Incharges in urban areas.
The application process is free, and the forms will be available at various locations, including Gram Panchayats, Ward Offices, Anganwadi Centers, Project Offices, and special camps organized by districts. After receiving applications, the provisional list will be published on February 21, 2024, followed by a period for objections from February 21 to February 25, 2024. The objection resolution will take place from February 26 to February 29, 2024, and the final list will be published on March 1, 2024.
Upon acceptance, eligible beneficiaries will receive the amount in their Aadhaar-linked DBT-based bank accounts, ensuring a transparent and efficient transfer process. A comprehensive review and monitoring structure will be in place at both the state and district levels to oversee the implementation of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. The Women and Child Development Department will serve as the nodal department at the state level, with the District Collector taking charge as the nodal officer in the district.
In case of future objections, an Objection Resolution Committee will investigate and take appropriate actions, including name deletion and recovery of erroneously paid amounts. The scheme’s success will be continually assessed through a state monitoring and implementation cell and district-level committees to ensure its effective implementation and benefit distribution.
