TFP Bureau, New Delhi; February 14, 2024: In a remarkable feat, the Ministry of Coal has surpassed its target for Government e-Marketplace (GeM) procurement for the fiscal year 2023-24. As of February 14, 2024, procurement through GeM has surged to an impressive Rs. 63,890 Crore, a staggering 300% of the annual target of Rs. 21,325 Crore.
This extraordinary achievement has propelled the Coal Ministry back to the top position among all Central Ministries in GeM procurement. Furthermore, Coal India Limited (CIL) has retained its leading position among all Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs).
The notable increase in GeM procurement not only reflects the Ministry’s unwavering commitment but also underscores the collaborative efforts and contributions from Coal PSUs. Their proactive engagement has played a pivotal role in driving the success story of GeM procurement, cementing their role as key stakeholders in India’s coal sector.
