By Chhaganlal Lonhare, Deputy Director Jansampark Raipur; February 19, 2024: Since assuming office on December 13, 2023, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has spearheaded a transformative era of good governance in Chhattisgarh, aligning with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision for Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas. In just two months, the state has witnessed a surge in public welfare initiatives, reflecting the government’s commitment to transparency and citizen-centric governance.
Under the Chief Minister’s leadership, the government swiftly addressed key challenges, focusing on inclusive growth and fulfillment of promises made to the people. Notable achievements include the initiation of permanent housing construction for 18 lakh beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana and transparent procurement processes for paddy under the Krishak Unnati Yojana. The state also extended the deadline for paddy procurement, benefiting thousands of farmers and achieving a record purchase of 144.92 lakh metric tonnes.
In a significant move to uphold integrity in public service, the government initiated a CBI investigation into the 2022 PSC Recruitment Examination case and extended the maximum age limit for local residents in government service recruitment by five years, providing greater opportunities for youth. The government’s commitment to agricultural welfare was underscored by the transfer of Rs 3,716 crore as the outstanding bonus for two years to over 12 lakh farmers on Good Governance Day, December 25.
Furthermore, the Pradhan Mantri Tribal Tribal Justice Maha Abhiyan (PM Janman) is ensuring basic facilities for specially backward tribal groups, while the provision of tendu leaf collection remuneration and tap connections for rural families reflects a holistic approach to livelihood enhancement and access to essential services. The Mahtari Vandan Yojana and Ramlala Darshan Scheme demonstrate the government’s dedication to promoting women’s empowerment and religious tourism, respectively.
In line with the Prime Minister’s vision for a developed India by 2047, Chhattisgarh has allocated a budget of Rs 1,47,446 crore for the fiscal year 2024-25, focusing on inclusive development and realizing the state’s potential as a leader in the Amrit Kaal of development. The government’s proactive stance on infrastructure development, including the construction of a railway line from Katghora to Dogarhgarh, underscores its commitment to coordinated progress and prosperity for all citizens.
