Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Encourages CM Sai’s Education Prioritization, Launches PM Shri Yojana in the State

Collaborative Efforts Aimed at Educational Development*

TFP Bureau, Raipur; February 20, 2024: Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan commended Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai for placing education at the forefront of the state’s agenda during the inauguration of the PM Shri Yojana in Chhattisgarh on Monday. Highlighting the government’s commitment to education, Minister Pradhan emphasized that the Central Government would collaborate closely with the Chhattisgarh Government to advance educational initiatives across the state.

In his address, Minister Pradhan announced the initiation of the PM Shri Yojana in 211 schools across Chhattisgarh, marking a significant step toward transforming these schools into model institutions aligned with Prime Minister Shri Modi’s vision of a developed India. Under this scheme, each selected school will receive funding of Rs. 2 crore to enhance infrastructure and educational facilities, aiming to elevate them to the standards of metropolitan and global institutions.

Presiding over the program, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the historic launch of the PM Shri Yojana in Chhattisgarh. He reiterated the state’s commitment to improving education quality in alignment with the new education policy, aimed at preparing students for future challenges and opportunities.

The event was attended by School Education Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Brijmohan Agarwal, MP Shri Sunil Soni, MLA Shri Purandar Mishra, among other dignitaries. Minister Pradhan launched various educational initiatives, including the Digital Library at Kendriya Vidyalaya Dongargarh and Ramanuj Maths Park, underscoring the government’s focus on modernizing educational infrastructure.

During his interaction with students, Minister Pradhan praised the confidence and knowledge levels of Chhattisgarh’s tribal children, highlighting their potential as a significant asset for the state’s development. He reiterated the Central Government’s commitment to fostering holistic education, emphasizing the importance of incorporating extracurricular activities such as sports and gardening.

Furthermore, Minister Pradhan announced plans to introduce a government channel dedicated to providing education up to the 8th grade in regional languages, including Halbi, Gondi, Bhatri, Surgujia, and Chhattisgarhi. He emphasized the need for promoting local languages as part of the new education policy’s emphasis on skill development and technology integration.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai outlined the state’s ambitious plans for educational development, including the recruitment of 33 thousand teachers and infrastructure enhancements. Minister Agarwal underscored the state’s commitment to multilingual education and the transformation of schools into smart institutions.

The program witnessed the participation of Central Education Secretary Shri Sanjay Kumar, Education Secretary of Chhattisgarh Shri Siddharth Komal Pardeshi, and other officials, reflecting a collective resolve to elevate Chhattisgarh’s education sector to national standards.
