TFP Bureau, New Delhi; February 20, 2024: The Ministry of Coal has witnessed an overwhelming response to the commercial coal mines offered under the 9th round of auctions, with a total of 40 bids received in offline form.
Launched by the Nominated Authority, Ministry of Coal on December 20, 2023, the Ninth round of commercial coal mine auctions targeted 32 coal mines. The bidding process closed on February 19, 2024. Among the bids received, 33 were submitted under the 19th/9th tranche of auctions. Notably, multiple bids were received for 8 coal mines, while single bids were recorded for 5 coal mines. Additionally, 7 bids were received under the 2nd Attempt of the 17th/7th tranche of auction for 3 coal mines.
The online bids, alongside the offline submissions, will undergo evaluation on February 20, 2024, with the opening proceedings taking place in the presence of the participating bidders.
