TFP Bureau, New Delhi; February 20, 2024: Following the success of its industry interaction in Hyderabad on February 16, 2024, focusing on promoting coal/lignite gasification projects, the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, is set to host another roadshow on February 21, 2024, in Mumbai. Shri Amrit Lal Meena, Secretary, Ministry of Coal, will grace the event as the Chief Guest. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to fostering the growth and widespread adoption of coal/lignite gasification projects across the nation.
The approved scheme to promote coal/lignite gasification projects, backed by the Government of India, allocates Rs. 8,500 crore investment outlay by the Ministry of Coal for projects falling under three categories: Government PSU’s, Private Players, and Small Scale Projects.
The push for coal/lignite gasification projects aligns with the government’s vision to diversify energy sources, reduce reliance on imported fuels, and mitigate environmental impact through cleaner technologies. This endeavor reflects the Ministry of Coal’s dedication to fostering innovation and collaboration within the energy sector.
