Deadline Extended: Online Renewal for Ration Cards Open Till March 15

Chief Minister’s Directive Ensures Ease of Access for Citizens

TFP Bureau, Raipur; February 25, 2024: In a move aimed at facilitating the renewal process for all 77 lakh ration cards under the public distribution system in Chhattisgarh, the deadline has been extended until March 15, 2024. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai’s directive to prioritize the convenience of citizens led to the decision to extend the renewal period, ensuring that all eligible beneficiaries can apply without haste. Minister of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Department, Shri Dayal Das Baghel, issued guidelines regarding the extension of the online renewal application deadline.

Director of the Food Department, Shri Jitendra Shukla, has provided instructions to all district collectors regarding the extension. To streamline the process, the Food Department has developed a new mobile app for ration card renewal, available for download on the Play Store. Additionally, beneficiaries can access the app via the Food Department’s website http://khadya.cg.nic.in. Through this mobile app, ration cardholders can conveniently submit electronic renewal applications from their smartphones.

For beneficiaries without Android mobile devices or lacking mobile connectivity, an alternative option is available. They can submit electronic renewal applications for ration cards online at the fair price shop level. This provision ensures that all eligible beneficiaries, regardless of their access to technology, can renew their ration cards seamlessly.
