Education Minister Directs Inclusion of Biographies of Bharat Ratna and Padmashree Awardees in Textbooks

TFP Bureau, Raipur; March 1, 2024: Education Minister Shri Brijmohan Aggarwal, amidst personal sorrow over the loss of his mother, resumed his duties and chaired the 88th meeting of the Chhattisgarh Text Book Corporation Executive Assembly on Thursday. Reviewing the corporation’s operations, he provided crucial directives aimed at enhancing educational standards across the state.

Expressing his grief over his mother’s demise, Minister Shri Aggarwal emphasized her role as a guiding force in his life, inspiring him to serve society. He vowed to continue his endeavors to fulfill her aspirations for the betterment of others.

During the meeting, Minister Shri Aggarwal underscored the corporation’s responsibility to ensure quality education for students and directed divisional officers to focus on delivering high-quality textbooks.

In a bid to enrich students’ general knowledge and acquaint them with eminent personalities, Minister Shri Aggarwal announced plans to include biographies of Bharat Ratna and Padmashree awardees at the beginning and end of textbooks. Additionally, introductions along with photographs of the state Governor, Chief Minister, Education Minister, and cabinet members will be featured. The minister also instructed to refrain from increasing book printing by 5 percent in the current session and emphasized the establishment of Text Book Corporation depots in all 33 districts to facilitate timely distribution of books to schools.

Moreover, Minister Shri Aggarwal mandated the use of Text Book Corporation books in schools affiliated with the Chhattisgarh Secondary Education Board and urged maximizing printing orders from other government departments to bolster the corporation’s revenue. He directed all Sanskrit schools affiliated with Chhattisgarh Sanskrit Vidya Mandalam to ensure timely provision of textbooks.

Assuring regular monitoring of the corporation’s operations, Minister Shri Aggarwal expressed optimism about its commitment to delivering quality education to students.
