TFP Bureau, Raipur; March 1, 2024: Chhattisgarh is witnessing the launch of transformative schemes aimed at bolstering the welfare of construction workers and their families, as announced by Labour Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan.
Pension Aid Scheme Inaugurated:
Labour Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan inaugurated the “Chief Minister Construction Workers Pension Aid Scheme” during a ceremony at Nava Raipur Division Headquarters office. Under this initiative, eligible construction workers aged 60 and above will receive a monthly pension of Rs 1500, with provision for Rs 750 monthly pension to the dependent (husband/wife) in case of the worker’s demise. Minister Dewangan underscored the scheme’s significance in providing financial security to workers and their families. Additionally, the “Chief Minister Free Coaching Assistance Scheme for the Children of Construction Workers” was launched, aiming to provide educational support to construction workers’ children preparing for competitive exams.
Scholarship and Education Assistance Disbursement:
In line with the commitment to educational empowerment, the Chhattisgarh Government disbursed Rs. 11 crore 32 lakhs under the Chief Minister Naunihal Scholarship Scheme and Chief Minister Noni Babu Medhavi Education Assistance Scheme. Benefiting children of registered construction workers, the schemes offer financial assistance ranging from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1 lakh, rewarding academic excellence and enabling access to quality education.
Workers Express Gratitude:
Mahasamund laborer Chaitram expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and Labour Minister Shri Dewangan for initiating the pension scheme. The direct transfer of pension amounts into the accounts of eligible workers marks a significant step towards enhancing their livelihoods. With the implementation of these schemes, the state aims to ensure a brighter future for the construction workers and their children, fostering education and employment opportunities across Chhattisgarh.
