Banks to Remain Open on Sundays for Aadhaar Seeding of Mahtari Vandan Yojana Beneficiaries

Government has launched a slogan competition on Mahtarivandan Yojana as a separate initiative

Raipur, March 3, 2024 – In a bid to expedite the Aadhaar seeding process for beneficiaries of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, a meeting chaired by Mrs. Shammi Abidi, Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department, was convened via video conferencing. The meeting, held under the joint chairmanship of Mrs. Abidi and the Director of the Directorate of Institutional Finance, Government of Chhattisgarh, addressed the crucial issue of linking Aadhaar cards with the bank accounts of Mahtari Vandan Yojana beneficiaries.

During the meeting, Mrs. Abidi instructed officials to accelerate the Aadhaar seeding process, emphasizing the importance of ensuring minimal inconvenience to women beneficiaries. She urged State Bank branches to collaborate with district authorities to expedite the process and directed the SLBC Convenor to prioritize Aadhaar seeding and ensure its completion on an urgent basis. Additionally, she proposed the organization of camps and the involvement of CSP/Bank Mitra with laptops to facilitate the Aadhaar linking process, particularly in districts where State Bank branches are located.

Furthermore, the Director of the Directorate of Institutional Finance announced plans to conduct camps in Raipur, Bilaspur, and Durg districts, with all member banks being urged to prioritize Aadhaar seeding. It was also decided that bank branches across the state would remain open on Sundays and other holidays to facilitate the Aadhaar seeding process for beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, in a separate initiative aimed at fostering public participation and engagement with the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, the Public Relations Department of the Chhattisgarh Government has launched a slogan competition. Participants are invited to submit slogans highlighting the essence of the scheme, with selected entries set to be featured in promotional activities. The deadline for submissions is March 5, 2024.
