TFP Bureau Raipur; March 3, 2024: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign in Chhattisgarh with a hands-on approach, personally administering oral polio vaccines to young children in his hometown of Bagiya. Divyansh Yadav, David Sai, Sheetal Paikra, and other children were among the recipients of the oral vaccines during the launch event.
Highlighting the significance of immunization, Chief Minister Sai underscored the crucial role of parents in ensuring their children receive the “Do Boond Zindagi ki” (polio vaccine), emphasizing the protection it provides to every child.
The nationwide pulse polio vaccination drive, spanning three days, commenced today across the country. On the first day, children aged 0 to 5 years are receiving polio doses at designated polio booths. Subsequently, on March 4 and 5, teams will conduct door-to-door visits to administer polio drops to children who may have been missed during the booth sessions.
Health centers and Anganwadi centers are serving as polio booths, with dedicated teams comprising health workers, Anganwadi workers, and Mitanins facilitating the administration of polio drops to children. This concerted effort aims to ensure comprehensive coverage and the eradication of polio from the nation, safeguarding the health and well-being of future generations.
