“Raktveer” Campaign Sets World Record at Rajim Kumbh Kalp 2024

23,180 Blood Test Cards Distributed, Raises Health Awareness

TFP Bureau, Raipur; March 9, 2024:  The Rajim Kumbh Kalp witnessed a historic achievement as the “Raktveer” campaign, a large-scale free blood testing initiative, set a new world record by distributing 23,180 blood test cards within a span of five days. Organized in collaboration with the Dr. Priyanka Bissa Vyas Team, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Magarlod Community Health Center, and Chhattisgarh Nursing College, the campaign aimed to raise health awareness among attendees.

During the Virat Sant Samagam, representatives from the Golden Book of World Records officially recognized the accomplishment, acknowledging the campaign’s impact on public health. Each blood test card facilitated comprehensive health checks, including measurements of height, weight, blood pressure, sugar levels, blood group, hemoglobin, sickling, and HIV.

Dignitaries including Smt. Kaushalya Sai, the wife of the Chief Minister, Religious Affairs Minister Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, and Gariaband MLA Shri Rohit Sahu commended the participants for their efforts in promoting public health. Dr. Sharda Thakur, BMO of the Magarlod Health Department, highlighted the campaign’s significance, noting that 65 percent of participants were previously unaware of their blood pressure and sugar levels.

The success of the “Raktveer” campaign was made possible through the dedication of 195 volunteers and associates, who tirelessly worked to ensure the smooth execution of the initiative. Dr. Priyanka Bissa Vyas, honoured by the President for her contributions, emphasized the importance of controlling blood pressure, sugar, and BMI for overall well-being. The campaign’s comprehensive health checks were conducted throughout the fairground, reaching thousands of individuals and providing vital health information.

This achievement builds upon the success of the 2018 campaign, which introduced India’s first blood test card, benefiting 11,551 individuals. The international acclaim garnered during Rajim Kumbh Kalp 2024 further underscores the campaign’s significance, with participants from Italy and France undergoing testing procedures, highlighting its global impact on public health awareness.
