Union Home Minister Amit Shah Launches Rural Development Projects in Delhi Villages

Inauguration of PNG Facilities and Development Works Marks Significant Step Towards Rural Progress

TFP Bureau, New Delhi, March 11, 2024: In a landmark initiative aimed at fostering rural development in Delhi, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, inaugurated the commencement of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) facilities in 41 villages and various development projects in 178 villages under the ‘Dilli Gramodaya Abhiyan’ today. The event, attended by Union Minister for Housing & Urban Development and Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, and Lt Governor of Delhi, Shri V K Saxena, underscored the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life in rural areas.

In his address, Shri Amit Shah hailed the occasion as a significant milestone for the rural areas of Delhi, as piped gas began reaching 41 villages, accompanied by the initiation of diverse development works across 178 villages. He highlighted the government’s allocation of Rs. 900 crore for rural infrastructure development, emphasizing the need for effective utilization of allocated funds.

Reflecting on the transformative vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi over the past decade, Shri Amit Shah commended PM Modi’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling promises and delivering tangible benefits to the people. He cited various initiatives, including the provision of LPG cylinders, piped gas, tap water, sanitation facilities, and free food grains, as testament to PM Modi’s dedication to the welfare of the poor and the development of rural areas.

Shri Amit Shah emphasized PM Modi’s efforts to bridge the urban-rural divide and empower every section of society, from farmers to scientists, through innovative policies and initiatives. He lauded PM Modi’s role in transforming India from a state of energy poverty to one of energy security, citing the widespread adoption of solar energy and the expansion of clean fuel infrastructure as key achievements.

Under the ‘Dilli Gramodaya Abhiyan’, development projects worth Rs 383 crore were inaugurated, encompassing various infrastructure and civic amenities such as roads, drainage systems, sewage treatment plants, rainwater harvesting facilities, parks, playgrounds, and community halls. The initiative aims to enhance the quality of life in rural areas through strategic planning and community participation.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability, Shri Amit Shah underscored the importance of fulfilling promises made to the people. He contrasted PM Modi’s record of delivery with the alleged corruption and maladministration of certain political figures in Delhi, reaffirming the government’s commitment to integrity and good governance.
