TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 6, 2024: Today, Chief Electoral Officer Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale conducted a comprehensive inspection of several polling stations across Jagdalpur under the Bastar Lok Sabha constituency. The purpose of this visit was to assess the readiness of polling stations and ensure the availability of essential facilities for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
Mrs. Kangale emphasized the importance of motivating voters, including the distribution of voter slips, to achieve a 100% turnout. To encourage participation, instructions were issued to establish voter selfie booths at prominent city locations and near key tourist sites such as Chitrakote and Tirathgarh Falls.
During her tour, Mrs. Kangale visited polling stations at Bhagat Singh Higher Secondary School Pathraguda, High School Kevaramunda, Swami Atmanand School Sanjay Market, and Danteshwari Girls College Shanti Nagar in Jagdalpur. She gathered information on voter numbers, new voter registrations, EPIC card distribution, and voter slip dissemination. The Chief Electoral Officer stressed the necessity of providing basic amenities like drinking water, toilets, and ramps, especially in the scorching summer weather, to ensure voter comfort.
Additionally, Mrs. Kangale underlined the Election Commission’s directive to operate free transportation services, including Divyang Rath for disabled and elderly voters, to facilitate their participation. Efforts were also made to offer door-to-door transportation for those in need.
In another development, Mrs. Kangale oversaw the training of polling parties, ensuring they were well-prepared to execute their duties effectively and efficiently during the electoral process. She advocated for detailed training, including mock polls, to instill confidence and competence among the polling personnel.
Expressing her appreciation for the dedication shown by polling officers, Mrs. Kangale acknowledged the efforts of women officers in particular, highlighting their vital role in ensuring a smooth electoral process.
Furthermore, Mrs. Kangale inspected the strong room in Jagdalpur established for the Lok Sabha elections, emphasizing the importance of stringent security measures and timely arrangements for distributing polling materials.
In a recent review meeting, Mrs. Kangale reiterated her commitment to conducting fair and transparent elections in the Bastar Lok Sabha constituency, stressing the necessity of coordinated efforts among all officers involved in the electoral process. Key issues such as security arrangements, training, and logistical preparations were discussed to ensure the successful conduct of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from various districts falling under the Bastar Lok Sabha constituency, including representatives from law enforcement agencies and electoral administration. The District Election Officer and other officials from the Bastar district were also present, demonstrating a collective resolve to uphold the democratic process with integrity and efficiency.
