TFP Bureau, New Delhi; April 25, 2024: As the second phase of voting in the Lok Sabha elections draws to a close today, voting is set to take place on 88 Lok Sabha seats across 13 states. The Election Commission has ensured comprehensive preparations to facilitate peaceful and fair voting processes.
In this phase, Karnataka will witness voting on the highest number of seats, with 14 constituencies up for grabs. Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh will also see significant electoral activity, with voting scheduled for 13 and 3 seats, respectively.
Meanwhile, following the conclusion of the nomination withdrawal period for the third phase of voting, the final candidate lineup has emerged. A total of 1351 candidates are vying for the 95 seats in the upcoming phase. The Election Commission reported the submission of 2963 nomination forms, of which 1563 were deemed valid after scrutiny. Subsequently, 212 candidates withdrew their nominations, leaving 1351 contenders in the electoral race.
