TFP Bureau, Raipur; May 21, 2024: The selection process for student admissions under the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act (RTE) for the academic year 2024-25 has commenced today with an online lottery system. According to the Director General of Public Instruction, a total of 1,22,270 applications were received for 52,872 reserved seats across 6,554 private schools in the state. In the first phase, 16,036 students have been selected for admission.
The first-phase lottery was conducted on May 20 in the presence of private school representatives, parents, and media personnel. The districts covered in this phase included Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon, Kawardha, Jashpur, and Jagdalpur. The lottery results are as follows:
Raipur: 4,655 students selected for 5,126 reserved seats
Durg: 3,462 students selected for 4,293 seats
Bilaspur: 3,609 students selected for 4,558 seats
Rajnandgaon: 1,471 students selected for 1,703 seats
Kawardha: 1,242 students selected for 1,351 seats
Jashpur: 895 students selected for 1,252 seats
Jagdalpur: 702 students selected for 761 seats
Selected students will receive an SMS notification on their registered mobile numbers. These students must complete their admissions in the chosen schools between June 1 and June 30. The lottery process, being entirely computerized and devoid of human intervention, ensures a fair selection.
For the remaining seats, the application process will reopen from July 1 to July 8. The second phase of the lottery will be conducted between July 17 and July 20.
