TFP Bureau, Mumbai, June 9, 2024: Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) has announced a remarkable milestone in its cargo operations, handling over one million tonnes of air cargo in the fiscal year 2023-2024. This achievement reflects AAHL’s robust operational capabilities and strategic growth in the aviation industry.
AAHL facilitated an impressive 10,13,115 metric tonnes of cargo in FY 2023-24, capturing a significant 30.1% market share. This represents a 7% increase compared to the previous fiscal year, which saw 9,44,912 metric tonnes of cargo handled.
International cargo operations, which comprised 65% of the total, amounted to 6,62,258 metric tonnes—a 9% year-on-year growth. Key commodities included automobiles, pharmaceuticals, perishables, electricals/electronics, and engineering goods. Major international destinations included Germany, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
AAHL’s cargo operations spanned across seven major airports: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (Mumbai), Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (Ahmedabad), Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (Lucknow), Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, Mangaluru International Airport, Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (Guwahati), and Jaipur International Airport.

Key highlights from FY 2023-24 include:
– Mumbai International Airport recorded its highest cargo volumes in March 2024 and received two major awards: Cargo Airport of the Year – Region India at Air Cargo India 2024 and The Best Cargo Airport – Efficiency & Digitization at the India Cargo Awards 2023.
– The addition of new freight operators such as Challenge Group, CMA CGM Air Cargo, Air Pace, Kenya Airways, Indigo, and Uganda Airlines.
– Implementation of 100% virtual account usage by trade partners at SACT in Mumbai, advancing digitization in domestic cargo operations.
– Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (Ahmedabad) handled Indigo’s first A320 neo freighter on 18 May 2024.
– Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (Lucknow) achieved its highest-ever volume of 700 tonnes of international cargo in March 2024.
