TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 1,2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai left for Delhi on Thursday to attend a meeting on the long-pending Mahanadi water dispute between Chhattisgarh and Odisha, to be chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.<\/p>\n
Before leaving for Delhi, Sai said efforts were continuing to find an amicable solution to the dispute in the broader interest of both states. He said the two state governments had given written assurances to the Central Water Commission that they would accept any decision taken by the commission while keeping the interests of both regions in view.<\/p>\n
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the issue could be resolved through dialogue, coordination and cooperation. He said Chhattisgarh would protect its interests while maintaining cordial relations with neighbouring Odisha.<\/p>\n
The latest meeting follows earlier discussions between the two states at the Centre, including a meeting chaired by the Union Jal Shakti Minister, where issues relating to dialogue, technical cooperation and a mutually acceptable solution were discussed.<\/p>\n
Investment outreach in Singapore<\/strong><\/p>\n Sai will also travel to Singapore to participate in the SING Forum-2026, organised by the Singapore Business Federation. He said the forum would provide an opportunity to present Chhattisgarh\u2019s development trajectory, industrial capabilities and investment opportunities to an international audience.<\/p>\n During the visit, the Chief Minister is scheduled to interact with Singapore-based investors, entrepreneurs and industry representatives to discuss investment and business opportunities in the state.<\/p>\n Sai said the government was seeking to attract investment by leveraging the state\u2019s industrial policy, natural resources, infrastructure and skilled workforce. He said international investments and technology partnerships could contribute to industrial expansion as well as create employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.<\/p>\n Focus on Bastar talent<\/strong><\/p>\n The Chief Minister also highlighted the potential of young people from Bastar, saying the region has considerable talent that needs access to opportunities, resources and appropriate platforms.<\/p>\n He said the government was working to expand opportunities in education, sports, skill development, innovation and employment in Bastar and to provide greater support to young people from the region.<\/p>\n Additional \u20b910,000 assistance for flood-hit families<\/strong><\/p>\n Meanwhile, Sai has directed district administrations to expedite surveys of damage caused by recent rains and floods and ensure that eligible affected families receive assistance under the provisions of RBC 6-4.<\/p>\n According to the government, more than 550 villages in 17 districts and over 22,000 people have been affected by the recent rainfall. Relief and assistance operations are being carried out in the affected areas.<\/p>\n As an additional relief measure, families whose houses were damaged by floods in the affected districts will receive \u20b910,000 each from the Chief Minister\u2019s Relief Fund, over and above assistance available under existing government norms.<\/p>\n The Chief Minister has asked Collectors to complete damage assessments promptly and ensure timely disbursement of assistance. Officials have also been directed to pay attention to drinking water, healthcare and other essential services in affected areas.<\/p>\n Sai said the damage to houses, crops, livestock and other assets should be assessed promptly and sensitively, and eligible people should receive assistance without unnecessary delay.
