{"id":10222,"date":"2026-10-12T16:59:00","date_gmt":"2026-10-12T16:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefrontpage24.com\/?p=10222"},"modified":"2026-10-12T16:59:00","modified_gmt":"2026-10-12T16:59:00","slug":"chhattisgarh-revises-teacher-recruitment-rules-opens-applications-to-more-disability-categories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefrontpage24.com\/?p=10222","title":{"rendered":"Chhattisgarh revises teacher recruitment rules, opens applications to more disability categories"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><em>High Court order prompts changes to eligibility criteria for teacher and assistant teacher posts; fresh online application dates to be announced separately<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 12, 2026: The Chhattisgarh Directorate of Public Instruction has amended the detailed advertisements for teacher and assistant teacher recruitment in government schools, expanding the disability categories eligible for specified posts in compliance with a Chhattisgarh High Court order.<\/p>\n<p>The corrigenda follow the court\u2019s October 9, 2026, judgment in the case of <em>Meenakshi Mangalkar and Others versus Government of Chhattisgarh and Others<\/em> (WPS No. 6783 of 2026). The amendments provide fresh opportunities for eligible candidates with disabilities to apply online. The application schedule for these candidates will be announced separately by the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (Vyapam) and the Chhattisgarh Staff Selection Board, as applicable.<\/p>\n<h3>Disability categories expanded<\/h3>\n<p>Under the revised provisions, blindness and cerebral palsy have been included among the suitable disability categories for Hindi, English, Sanskrit and Social Science teaching posts. Cerebral palsy and cured leprosy have been included for Mathematics posts, while cerebral palsy has been added for Agriculture teaching posts.<\/p>\n<p>The separate corrigendum for assistant teacher recruitment also includes blindness, deafness and cerebral palsy among the specified disability categories. It further deletes sub-clause (iv) of Clause 5 of the detailed advertisement.<\/p>\n<p>The amendments follow the Social Welfare Department\u2019s revised notification dated September 11, 2026. The revised advertisements also clarify the distribution of posts reserved for candidates with disabilities across four groups: visual impairment, hearing impairment, orthopaedic impairment and multiple disabilities.<\/p>\n<h3>Recruitment covers more than 3,900 posts<\/h3>\n<p>The two recruitment exercises cover different categories of teaching posts. The teacher recruitment advertisement covers 1,654 posts, comprising 868 in the E-cadre and 786 in the T-cadre.<\/p>\n<p>The E-cadre vacancies include 109 posts in Hindi, 150 in Sanskrit, 319 in English, 135 in Mathematics, 150 in Social Science and five in Agriculture. The T-cadre includes 141 posts in Hindi, 150 in Sanskrit, 185 in English, 115 in Mathematics, 100 in Social Science and 95 in Agriculture.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, the assistant teacher recruitment process covers 2,292 posts, including 795 in the E-cadre and 1,497 in the T-cadre. The E-cadre covers districts including Raipur, Durg, Mahasamund, Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara, Balod, Bemetara, Rajnandgaon, Kabirdham, Janjgir-Champa, Mungeli, Raigarh and Bilaspur. The T-cadre includes districts across the Bastar and Surguja regions, along with Korba, Gariaband and other districts specified in the advertisement.<\/p>\n<h3>Application dates to be announced<\/h3>\n<p>The Directorate of Public Instruction said the revised opportunity would be available to eligible candidates covered by the amendments. The respective recruitment boards will announce the online application dates separately.<\/p>\n<p>All other terms and conditions of the original advertisements remain unchanged. The teacher recruitment advertisement was issued on August 7, 2026, while the assistant teacher advertisement was published on July 24, 2026.
