TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 17, 2025:\u00a0In a major initiative aimed at poverty alleviation, the Chhattisgarh government on Tuesday launched the Inclusive Livelihood Scheme<\/em> to connect 5,000 extremely poor families from five development blocks in Jashpur and Kabirdham districts with sustainable livelihood opportunities.<\/p>\n

The launch event, held at Hotel Mayfair in Naya Raipur, marked the beginning of a three-year effort to train and empower selected families through targeted action plans and convergence with government welfare schemes. The initiative has been launched under the vision of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma.<\/p>\n

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during the event between the Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihan) and BRAC International to implement the scheme.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, officials emphasized the program’s goal to economically uplift the most marginalized families while also improving their nutritional and food-related behaviors. The program is expected to boost income levels and promote inclusive socio-economic growth in the targeted regions.<\/p>\n

Key dignitaries in attendance included Smriti Sharan, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development; Bhim Singh, Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development Department; Jayshree Jain, Mission Director, Bihan; and Shweta S. Banerjee, Country Head, BRAC International. Women from particularly vulnerable tribal groups were also present, underscoring the program\u2019s inclusive approach.<\/p>\n
