TFP Bureau, Jashpur, November 4, 2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday launched a mobile digital education initiative in Jashpur and attended the closing ceremony of the regional Karam Puja Festival, highlighting the state government’s focus on rural skill development alongside the preservation of tribal culture and traditions.<\/p>\n

Sai flagged off the ‘Digital Transforming Van’ from the rest house premises during his visit to the district. Operated by the NIIT Foundation in collaboration with Indus Towers, the initiative aims to take digital education and skill training to villages in the Jashpur development block.<\/p>\n

The mobile training centre will provide free, month-long courses to people aged between 12 and 60. The programme will cover digital literacy, cybersecurity and basic information technology, including the use of computers and digital devices, internet fundamentals and safe online practices.<\/p>\n

The initiative is expected to benefit children, youth and women in rural and remote areas by providing access to technical training without requiring them to travel to urban centres.<\/p>\n

After inspecting the van and its digital facilities, the Chief Minister participated in an online conference call using the equipment installed inside it. He said digital literacy had become essential for accessing opportunities in education, employment and self-employment, and could play a significant role in making rural youth self-reliant.<\/p>\n

He appreciated the joint initiative of the NIIT Foundation and Indus Towers, describing it as an important step towards bridging the digital divide.<\/p>\n

Jashpur MLA Raimuni Bhagat, Municipal Council president Arvind Bhagat, Prabal Pratap Singh Judev, Zila Panchayat vice-president Shaurya Pratap Singh Judev and Sunil Gupta were among those present. NIIT Foundation National Head Purnendu Hooda, project coordinator Jitendra Rathore, Indus Towers representative Rajnish and members of the foundation’s Jashpur team also attended.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Karam festival draws over 6,000 participants<\/h3>\n

Later, Sai attended the closing ceremony of the regional Karam Puja Festival 2026 at Bangaon village in the Farsabahar development block. He offered prayers to Karam Raja and sought happiness and prosperity for the people of the state. He also paid homage before portraits of Lord Mahadev and Goddess Parvati, Chhattisgarh Mahtari and tribal icon Bhagwan Birsa Munda.<\/p>\n

The festival brought together more than 6,000 members of the Oraon community, along with dance groups from different parts of the district. Dressed in traditional attire, participants performed collective dances to the rhythmic beats of the mandar and other traditional instruments. The Chief Minister joined the dancers and encouraged the performers.<\/p>\n

Describing Karam Parab as a symbol of tribal culture, heritage and reverence for nature, Sai said the festival reflected the values of environmental conservation, social unity, brotherhood and collective living.<\/p>\n

He said Chhattisgarh’s identity was deeply rooted in its tribal traditions, folk arts and close relationship with nature. While embracing modern education and development, the younger generation must remain connected to its languages, folk songs, dances, customs and traditional festivals, he added.<\/p>\n

\u20b970 lakh announced for local development<\/h3>\n

On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced \u20b950 lakh for a community hall and \u20b920 lakh for a cement-concrete road in Bangaon. He also announced the development of an Akhada, or traditional community ground, in Bangaon and a mini-stadium in Sahaspur.<\/p>\n

Recalling the contribution of tribal leaders to India’s history and freedom struggle, Sai referred to Rani Durgavati, Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, Gundadhur, Gend Singh and Veer Budhu Bhagat. He said their courage, sacrifice and resistance to injustice remained a source of inspiration.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister also outlined the government’s welfare initiatives, saying it was working to implement the commitments made under Modi’s Guarantee. He referred to the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, under which the 33rd instalment had recently been released ahead of Diwali, and the procurement of paddy at \u20b93,100 per quintal for up to 21 quintals per acre.<\/p>\n

He also cited the annual assistance of \u20b910,000 to landless agricultural labourers, housing construction under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and pilgrimage initiatives for eligible beneficiaries.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

On the security front, Sai said progress in the fight against Naxalism, supported by security forces and local communities, was creating opportunities for peace and development in remote and tribal regions.<\/p>\n

Jashpur development projects highlighted<\/h3>\n

Highlighting development initiatives in Jashpur, the Chief Minister said medical education had commenced in the district, while a sports complex and an archery academy were being developed to support local sporting talent.<\/p>\n

He also referred to the construction of the state’s fifth 400 kV power substation at Harradand in the Kunkuri development block and ongoing efforts to expand roads, bridges, culverts and irrigation infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Sai said the government was committed to extending education, healthcare, employment and infrastructure facilities to every village in the district while protecting its distinctive cultural identity.<\/p>\n

Among those present at the Karam festival were Zila Panchayat vice-president Shaurya Pratap Singh Judev, Collector Rohit Vyas, Senior Superintendent of Police Lal Umed Singh, Zila Panchayat CEO Abhishek Kumar, regional Karam Puja Festival president Ved Prakash Bhagat, executive president Balram Bhagat and members of the organising committee.
