TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 20, 2025:\u00a0Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai emphasized the crucial role of the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries in the development of the state, highlighting its contribution to the rapid growth of trade, business, and industry. Addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers at Shaheed Smarak Auditorium in Raipur, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the Chamber\u2019s continued efforts would play a pivotal role in making Chhattisgarh one of the leading states in India.<\/p>\n
Chamber President Satish Thaurani, General Secretary Ajay Bhasin, Treasurer Nikesh Bardia, and other officials took their oaths during the event. Chief Minister Sai noted that for the first time in the 62-year history of the Chamber, elections were conducted unanimously, a sign of the organization’s unity.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe Chamber\u2019s contribution to the welfare of 12 lakh traders and its role in enhancing the state\u2019s economy cannot be overstated. We have taken several steps to aid the growth of industry and trade in the state,\u201d Sai said, mentioning initiatives such as increasing the e-way bill limit and reducing VAT on petrol.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
New Industrial Policy Drives Investment Proposals of Rs 4.5 Lakh Crore<\/strong><\/p>\n
The Chief Minister also spoke about the state\u2019s new industrial policy, which has created a favorable environment for industries, attracting investment proposals worth Rs 4.5 lakh crore. He mentioned the recent Bhoomi Pujan for a semiconductor manufacturing plant in Nava Raipur and the successful investor meets held in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. \u201cBusinessmen and industrialists are enthusiastic about Chhattisgarh\u2019s growth, and I urge the Chamber to actively promote the state\u2019s industrial policy to attract more investment,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
State Economy and Agricultural Growth<\/strong><\/p>\n
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh also addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of market liquidity and the vital role of farmers in the state\u2019s economy. \u201cUnder Chief Minister Sai\u2019s leadership, Chhattisgarh has seen record paddy purchases at Rs 3100 per quintal and two years\u2019 worth of bonuses for farmers. Our state\u2019s budget has grown from Rs 6000 crore to Rs 1.6 lakh crore,\u201d he noted. Dr. Singh also mentioned that Chhattisgarh has witnessed the highest automobile sales in the country, a clear indicator of economic progress.<\/p>\n
Collective Efforts for Development<\/strong><\/p>\n
Former MP and Governor Ramesh Bais echoed the sentiments, saying that the combined efforts of the government and industry are essential for the state\u2019s rapid development. \u201cWhen both the government and industry move in sync, progress accelerates,\u201d he remarked. Raipur MP Brijmohan Agarwal added that the unanimous election of the Chamber’s new leadership is a positive sign for the state\u2019s business community.<\/p>\n
