TFP Bureau, New Delhi\/Raipur, April 21,2025: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the implementation of the new criminal law framework across India, with a special focus on Chhattisgarh. During the meeting, Shah emphasized the importance of 100 percent implementation of the Indian Judicial Code, Indian Civil Defense Code, and Indian Evidence Act in Chhattisgarh at the earliest.<\/p>\n
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, who attended the meeting, highlighted that Chhattisgarh has already made substantial progress in adapting to the new laws. \u201cChhattisgarh is prepared both administratively and technically to lead in this legal transformation,\u201d he said, adding that 27 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have been rolled out and more than 37,000 police personnel have been trained under the new framework.<\/p>\n
The Chief Minister also informed that modern infrastructure has been set up across courts, police stations, and jails, including e-evidence systems and video conferencing tools. As of now, 53,981 FIRs have been registered under the revised legal codes, with charge sheets filed in nearly half of the cases.<\/p>\n
Focus on Naxal Eradication and Bastar Development<\/strong><\/p>\n The meeting also covered strategies for eliminating Naxalism and ensuring the holistic development of the Bastar region. CM Sai briefed the Union Minister on recent successful operations against Naxal elements, including arrests, surrenders, and neutralizations.<\/p>\n He highlighted the impact of community-focused initiatives like the Niyad Nelanar Yojana<\/em>, Bastar Olympics<\/em>, Women\u2019s Safety Centres, and tourism infrastructure development in tribal regions. “We are determined to make Chhattisgarh Naxal-free by 2026,\u201d he asserted, adding that efforts are underway to position Bastar as a premier tourism hub in the country.<\/p>\n Shah Praises Progress, Calls for Seamless Coordination<\/strong><\/p>\n Union Home Minister Amit Shah commended Chhattisgarh\u2019s progress in aligning with the Centre\u2019s legal reform agenda.
