TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 2, 2025:\u00a0In a significant push toward youth empowerment and employment generation, the Chhattisgarh government on Thursday signed four major Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at expanding skill development in the state. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai inaugurated NITI Aayog\u2019s “State Support Mission” workshop in Raipur, emphasizing the critical role of youth in building a “Developed India.”<\/p>\n
Highlighting the importance of skill training aligned with changing industry needs, CM Sai said, \u201cIndia is a young country, and if our youth receive training based on their interest and ability, they can lead the nation toward rapid progress. These MoUs are an important step in opening new doors of employment.\u201d<\/p>\n
The workshop focused on enhancing skill, employment, and livelihood opportunities for youth, women, and tribal communities. CM Sai reiterated the government’s vision to transform Chhattisgarh into a developed state by 2047, with youth, women, and tribals at the center of economic planning.<\/p>\n
Among the agreements signed, a notable MoU with Mahindra & Mahindra will enable youth in Dantewada, Balrampur, and Kondagaon to receive hands-on training in tractor manufacturing. Another MoU with the Nandi Foundation aims to improve employability among socially and economically disadvantaged youth by equipping them with job-oriented skills.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese initiatives will help reduce unemployment, especially in tribal and rural areas, and promote sustainable livelihoods,\u201d the Chief Minister said. He also stressed the growing demand for electricians, plumbers, and mechanics in rural regions and announced upcoming training modules in these trades.<\/p>\n
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma emphasized the need to connect skill training directly with industry needs, particularly those based on local resources such as agriculture, forest produce, and handicrafts. He also announced the state\u2019s plan to launch a digital e-hub to support youth innovation through prototyping, funding, and marketing assistance.<\/p>\n
Skill Development Secretary S. Bharathi Dasan reported that over 4.83 lakh youth have already received training under the Chief Minister Skill Development Scheme, with more than 2.66 lakh of them securing employment.<\/p>\n
NITI Aayog\u2019s Program Director, Dr. Sonia Pant, lauded the state\u2019s efforts and assured full support in strengthening forest-based livelihoods and tribal youth participation in state-run schemes. \u201cSkill and technology must reach our remotest communities,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
