TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 29, 2025: In a significant step toward inclusive rural development, Chhattisgarh Governor Shri Ramesh Deka has adopted three villages \u2014 Temri in Bemetara district, Madwa Deeh in Gariaband district, and Sonpuri in Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district. The initiative aims to transform these villages through integrated efforts focused on socio-economic upliftment, environmental sustainability, and cultural preservation, without any additional financial outlay.<\/p>\n
Rather than introducing new funding streams, the developmental activities in the adopted villages will leverage existing allocations from various central and state government schemes. These initiatives will be community-driven, with an emphasis on transparency, monitoring, and effective utilization of resources.<\/p>\n
The Governor\u2019s adoption plan is rooted in a \u201chuman-centric\u201d approach to development. Key focus areas include water conservation, education, health and nutrition, livelihood generation, social security, and sustainable agriculture. Efforts will also be made to conserve local heritage and promote rural tourism.<\/p>\n
Key Interventions Planned:<\/strong><\/p>\n Each of the villages will be monitored with measurable indicators such as improvements in groundwater levels, student retention in schools, and increase in vegetation cover. These villages are intended to serve as models for other rural areas, providing a blueprint for integrated village development under district administration guidance.<\/p>\n The initiative follows a directive issued during the Governors\u2019 Conference in New Delhi in August last year, where all Governors were encouraged to actively review the on-ground implementation of flagship government schemes.
