TFP Bureau, Raipur, July 1, 2025: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to empowering traditional artisans and reviving rural crafts, calling for a concrete strategy to enhance livelihoods in village industries. Chairing a review meeting of the Gramodyog (Village Industries) Department at Mahanadi Bhawan on Tuesday, the Chief Minister emphasized that supporting artisans involved in weaving, embroidery, handicrafts, and clay work is a top priority for the government.<\/p>\n
\u201cArtisans have kept our cultural heritage alive for generations. It is our responsibility to ensure they are given the respect, recognition, and resources they deserve,\u201d said CM Sai. He directed officials to prepare a comprehensive and integrated plan that includes skill training, financial aid, adoption of modern technology, and strong marketing support to generate sustainable employment.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed key areas including silk production, kosa fabric, khadi, handloom, and clay crafts. Stressing the need to tap the vast employment potential of these sectors, he instructed that training programs be enhanced through institutions like the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, and that all sanctioned funds be fully utilized to deliver high-quality outcomes.<\/p>\n
Highlighting Chhattisgarh\u2019s reputation for its intricate handloom and silk work, Shri Sai said the time had come to take these products to national and global markets. He called for targeted efforts to strengthen online sales and explore export opportunities with guidance from experts in the field.<\/p>\n
He also emphasized the timely construction of the upcoming Unity Mall, which he said will serve as a powerful platform to showcase and brand traditional Chhattisgarhi products. \u201cThe Unity Mall will provide artisans and weavers with visibility and access to wider markets, both in India and abroad,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
In addition, the Chief Minister called for the expansion of silk production through the latest technological interventions to improve quality and scale, thereby creating more employment in rural areas.<\/p>\n
\u201cTrue respect for artisans comes not just through words but through actions that improve their income and standard of living,\u201d CM Sai concluded.<\/p>\n
