TFP Bureau, Raipur, July 3, 2025: In a landmark development for the education sector, the Chhattisgarh government has successfully ensured that no school in the state remains without a teacher, following an extensive rationalization of teaching staff. According to official data, 453 schools previously operating without any teacher now have faculty in place.<\/p>\n
This sweeping reform, carried out under the provisions of the Right to Education Act, 2009 and the National Education Policy, 2020, has also addressed the issue of single-teacher schools. Out of 5,936 such schools, 4,728 have now received additional teaching staff, significantly strengthening the foundation of primary and middle-level education in rural and remote areas.<\/p>\n
Officials informed that while approximately 1,208 schools in Bastar and Surguja divisions still have only one teacher due to a shortage of personnel, the gap will soon be filled through upcoming promotions of principals and lecturers as well as the direct recruitment of nearly 5,000 new teachers. This is expected to eliminate the remaining single-teacher schools and address staff shortages across the state.<\/p>\n
Authorities emphasized that the old staffing structure based on the 2008 setup had become outdated and inadequate. The rationalization exercise marks a much-needed realignment of teacher distribution in accordance with current enrollment levels and academic needs.<\/p>\n
Disciplinary action has also been taken against officers and staff found guilty of irregularities during the process, reinforcing the state government\u2019s commitment to transparency and accountability in education reforms.<\/p>\n
