\nThe cabinet sanctioned the creation of 30 non-numerical posts to provide senior category pay scale benefits to State Police Service officers from batches 2005 to 2009 who have completed the requisite qualifying service period. This move is intended to ensure proper management and motivation within the police cadre.<\/p>\n
\nIn a landmark decision, the government approved the formation of a non-profit joint venture company between Chhattisgarh and the Pan IIT Alumni Reach for India Foundation. This initiative will focus on institutional vocational education, skill development, and rural entrepreneurship to uplift poor youth, women, and third-gender individuals from tribal and other marginalized groups. The program will also include foreign language training to enhance international employment opportunities.<\/p>\n
\nTo curb accidents caused by old vehicles and reduce air pollution, amendments to the Chhattisgarh Motor Vehicle Taxation Act, 1991, and Motor Vehicle Rules, 1994, were approved. A key provision allows vehicle owners to retain their preferred registration numbers when transferring to new or similarly categorized vehicles from other states, subject to applicable fees.<\/p>\n
\nThe cabinet approved amendments to the Chhattisgarh Private University Act and the launch of the Student Start-up and Innovation Policy. The policy aims to empower youth by fostering a student-centric innovation ecosystem, with a special focus on tribal areas and key sectors like agriculture, green energy, health, and manufacturing. Goals include reaching 50,000 students, supporting 500 prototypes, filing 500 intellectual property rights, and incubating 150 startups.<\/p>\n
\nRecognizing rapid urbanization, ministers approved the establishment of an authority for planned development of the Chhattisgarh Capital Region, covering Raipur, Durg-Bhilai, and Naya Raipur Atal Nagar. This body will coordinate investment, manage urban expansion, and ensure sustainable growth, anticipating a population of around 50 lakh by 2031.<\/p>\n
\nThe cabinet approved amendments to the Chhattisgarh Goods and Services Tax Act to improve input service distributor rules in line with Central Government reforms. It also passed a bill to settle outstanding tax, interest, and penalty cases for small and medium traders, and amended the Land Revenue Code to simplify property transfers, update land records, and reduce illegal plotting.<\/p>\n
\nThe Council of Ministers approved amendments to the Kushabhau Thackeray Journalism and Mass Communication University Act, 2004, reflecting the government\u2019s focus on strengthening professional education.<\/p>\n
