Addressing the surgical blade issue, CGMSCL stated that the batch in question (Batch No. G-409) of Blade No. 22 was supplied by Goldwin Medicare Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, in March 2024 and carries a shelf life until May 2029. The product met all quality standards upon receipt and passed rigorous quality control before storage. Upon receiving information about rust found in 50 blades at Mahasamund, CGMSCL promptly instructed all state health institutions to halt use of the batch and requested the Directorate of Health Services and Directorate of Medical Education to form an expert team to investigate. Preliminary checks of remaining stock at CGMSCL warehouses found no rust, indicating possible errors in local storage or handling. Other institutions receiving the same batch reported no quality issues. CGMSCL emphasized that this isolated complaint should not be seen as a failure of the entire supply system and reaffirmed its commitment to zero tolerance on quality lapses.<\/p>\n
Regarding the Ayurvedic medicines, CGMSCL clarified that all supplies are made strictly according to approved annual demands submitted by AYUSH institutions, including the Raipur Ayurvedic hospital. The corporation\u2019s role ends at the timely delivery of certified high-quality medicines; local storage and distribution fall under the respective institution\u2019s responsibility. The hospital superintendent confirmed adherence to approved storage guidelines and active monitoring to maintain medicine quality. CGMSCL described reports of medicines being stored in open conditions as a temporary administrative disruption specific to the hospital, urging that the corporation should not be held solely responsible without complete context.<\/p>\n
