TFP Bureau, Raipur, July 17, 2025: The Chhattisgarh Housing Board\u2019s One Time Settlement Scheme (OTS-2) has recorded an unprecedented milestone, with 920 properties sold generating a revenue of Rs 139.47 crore, Housing and Environment Minister Shri O. P. Choudhary announced today in the state Legislative Assembly.<\/p>\n
Launched on March 1, 2025, the OTS-2 scheme offers special phased discounts on vacant properties based on their vacancy duration. Properties vacant for 5 to 10 years receive discounts of 20% to 30%, while those vacant for more than 10 years get a 30% discount. Newly included properties completing five years of construction offer a 10% discount. These discounts apply to the base price, with final allotment made to the highest bidder.<\/p>\n
Minister Choudhary hailed the scheme\u2019s success as a major boost in making previously unoccupied Housing Board properties accessible to the public, reflecting increased buyer confidence and marking a milestone in the Board\u2019s history.<\/p>\n
Housing Board Declared Debt-Free<\/strong><\/p>\n In a significant financial achievement, the Housing Board is now completely debt-free after the state government cleared outstanding bank loans of approximately Rs 800 crore. \u201cThis debt clearance empowers the Board to undertake future projects with greater financial strength,\u201d said the Minister.<\/p>\n New Construction Only After 60% Pre-Booking<\/strong><\/p>\n To ensure effective implementation of new housing projects, Shri Choudhary declared that no new construction will commence unless at least 60% of units are pre-booked. This measure aims to avoid incomplete projects and enhance scheme success rates.<\/p>\n He also emphasized that the Housing Board is evolving beyond traditional roles by adopting a corporate model to develop a diverse portfolio including affordable housing, premium residences, and commercial properties\u2014aligned with the state\u2019s urban development and self-reliant housing policies.<\/p>\n Focus on Public Welfare<\/strong><\/p>\n The Minister reaffirmed the Board\u2019s commitment to providing affordable, safe, and quality housing especially tailored for common citizens, lower, and middle-income families. \u201cOur goal is to ensure every citizen has the opportunity to live with dignity and security,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Board Becomes Debt-Free; Construction to Begin Only After 60% Pre-Booking, Says Housing Minister O.
