TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 5, 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has directed that all skill development programs in Chhattisgarh be firmly aligned with employment and self-employment opportunities, stressing that the state\u2019s focus is not just on imparting training but on ensuring meaningful livelihoods for its youth.<\/p>\n
Chairing a high-level review meeting of the Skill Development Department at Mahanadi Bhawan in Nava Raipur, CM Sai emphasized that self-reliance is the ultimate goal of skill initiatives. “Our aim should be to empower youth through practical, job-oriented training that leads to real outcomes\u2014employment, entrepreneurship, and dignity of labour,\u201d he said, urging the department to adopt innovative and action-driven strategies.<\/p>\n
The Chief Minister reviewed the implementation status of key schemes, including the Mukhyamantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0, and the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana. He also examined the district-wise training performance and budget allocations for the 2025\u201326 financial year.<\/p>\n
Special attention was given to training programs for surrendered Maoists under the \u2018Niyad Nellanar\u2019 scheme. It was informed that 549 individuals have completed training, while 382 are currently enrolled in rehabilitation centres. Training progress for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) under the PM Janman Yojana was also assessed.<\/p>\n
A key development highlighted in the meeting was the introduction of a face-recognition attendance system for trainees under the Mukhyamantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, effective from July 1, 2025. This new system aims to enhance transparency and accountability in monitoring.<\/p>\n
The department shared progress on industry tie-ups, including MoUs with the Nandi Foundation and Mahindra & Mahindra, aimed at expanding quality training opportunities through public-private partnerships.<\/p>\n
A detailed roadmap was also presented for the upcoming \u2018Kaushal Tihar 2025\u2019<\/strong>, a state-wide skill awareness event to be conducted in two phases\u2014district and state levels. Youth will compete in two age categories (under and above 22 years) across 10 trades such as Automobile Technology, Renewable Energy, Graphic Design, Health Care, Electrical Installations, Mobile Repair, and more. Winners at the district level will advance to state-level competitions and will be rewarded with prizes, employment support, and training for national-level skill contests. Top performers will also have the opportunity to represent India at World Skills 2026 in Shanghai, China<\/strong>.<\/p>\n “Skill development must translate into livelihood and long-term security for our youth,” CM Sai reiterated, urging continued focused implementation.<\/p>\n The review meeting was attended by Forest and Skill Development Minister Kedar Kashyap, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Skill Development Secretary S.
