TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 18, 2025 \u2013 Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai today announced a slew of development initiatives for Bhilai while laying the foundation stone and inaugurating projects worth \u20b9241.50 crore in the Municipal Corporation area. He also declared \u20b920 crore for the construction of a new office building for the Bhilai Municipal Corporation, terming it a major step towards strengthening civic infrastructure.<\/p>\n
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the creation of a State Capital Region<\/strong> covering Raipur, Durg, Bhilai, and Rajnandgaon would pave the way for rapid development and improved civic amenities. \u201cThis initiative will expand urban facilities, accelerate projects, and ensure that all promises made under the Atal Vishwas Patra<\/em> during urban body elections are fulfilled one by one,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Highlighting governance reforms, CM Sai informed that a Department of Good Governance and Convergence<\/strong> has been set up to ensure accountability and transparency in administration. He said digitization measures are already transforming citizen services, with Atal Digital Seva Kendras<\/strong> operational in 1,460 gram panchayats and plans to cover all 11,000 panchayats by April 24, 2026<\/strong>, marking Panchayati Raj Day.<\/p>\n The Chief Minister also underlined the state government\u2019s commitment to welfare schemes aligned with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi\u2019s guarantees. He cited key initiatives such as:<\/p>\n Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw, addressing the programme, said that in the past one year, the government sanctioned \u20b97,000 crore for urban development<\/strong> across the state. Under the Nagarothan Yojana<\/em>, Bhilai alone received \u20b9470 crore in the last 18 months. He added that the government\u2019s efforts in cleanliness had earned national recognition, with seven urban bodies winning the National Swachhata Award<\/strong> and 58 small towns being recognised nationally<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The event also witnessed distribution of benefits to citizens. CM Sai awarded a cleanliness ward shield<\/strong> to Councillor Smt. Smriti Dodke, handed over Grihapravesh certificates<\/strong> to nine PM Awas Yojana<\/em> beneficiaries, certificates to PM Surya Ghar Yojana<\/em> beneficiaries, and mobility aids to Divyangjans. Women self-help groups received cheques for economic activities, and the Radharani SHG was honoured under the Women for Tree<\/em> initiative.<\/p>\n The programme was attended by Vaishali Nagar MLA Shri Rakesh Sen, Mayor Shri Neeraj Pal, MLA Shri Lalit Chandrakar, former Assembly Speaker Shri Premprakash Pandey, former Minister Smt.
