TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 15, 2025: In a significant decision aimed at strengthening higher education in Chhattisgarh, the state government has approved recruitment for 700 vacant posts across government colleges. The move, initiated under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, is expected to not only fill long-pending vacancies but also create new opportunities for the youth while raising the academic standards of higher education institutions.<\/p>\n
According to officials, the Finance Department has granted approval for the recruitment drive based on a proposal submitted by the Higher Education Department. The posts include 625 Assistant Professors, 25 Sports Officers, and 50 Librarians. The recruitment is being seen as a major step to address faculty shortages in colleges and to provide students with better academic and extracurricular support.<\/p>\n
Out of the total, the appointment of 625 Assistant Professors is expected to bring a marked improvement in teaching and research activities across colleges, ensuring enhanced classroom learning as well as academic mentorship. Similarly, the recruitment of 25 Sports Officers will strengthen the focus on physical education and sporting activities, providing students with professional guidance in athletics and games. The addition of 50 Librarians will ensure the smoother functioning of libraries, enabling students to access study materials more systematically.<\/p>\n
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai hailed the approval as a \u201chistoric step\u201d that will not only expand employment opportunities for the state\u2019s youth but also create a more robust and quality-driven academic environment in higher education institutions. \u201cThis recruitment drive will strengthen the academic level of our colleges and provide students with better guidance, training, and opportunities for learning. It will empower the next generation and inspire progress in the education sector,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Finance Minister O. P. Choudhary emphasized that the government is placing education at the center of its development agenda. \u201cThe decision to recruit for 700 posts in government colleges is a landmark step. While it opens new employment avenues for the youth, it also gives a strong push to the state\u2019s higher education system, helping us shape a self-reliant and skilled generation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The government highlighted that under Chief Minister Sai\u2019s leadership, recruitment across multiple departments has gained momentum over the last 21 months. Thousands of appointments have already been made, including Anganwadi workers and assistants in the Women and Child Development Department, specialist doctors and medical officers in the Health Department, and hostel superintendents in the Tribal Development Department. Recruitment processes are also underway for 5,000 teacher posts as announced earlier.<\/p>\n
Officials said the government\u2019s vision is to create large-scale employment opportunities for youth across key sectors such as education, healthcare, security, technology, and administration.
