<\/p>\nTFP Bureau, Raipur, September 23, 2025: \u00a0Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today declared that Mahatari Sadans will serve as a strong foundation for Chhattisgarh\u2019s progress, emphasizing that women\u2019s empowerment remains the government\u2019s highest priority. Speaking at a state-level ceremony in Kareli Badi village of Kurud constituency, the Chief Minister virtually inaugurated 51 newly constructed Mahatari Sadans across the state and unveiled new digital initiatives including the Gram Sampada App and the MNREGA Citizen Information Portal. On the occasion, he also released informative booklets titled \u201cLakhpati Didi\/Mahatari Sadan\u201d and \u201cMaa Abhiyan.\u201d<\/p>\n
Addressing the gathering, Sai highlighted that Mahatari Sadans will enable women to pursue diverse livelihood activities such as sewing, embroidery, vegetable cultivation, and self-employment training, thereby boosting their financial independence. Interacting virtually with women\u2019s groups from districts including Jashpur, Bemetara, Mungeli, and Durg, he extended Navratri greetings and assured them of the government\u2019s unwavering commitment to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s promises within its 19-month tenure. He further linked the initiative to other flagship welfare schemes like Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana, Chief Minister\u2019s Pilgrimage Scheme, and Mahatari Vandan Yojana.<\/p>\n
Sai also stressed that the government\u2019s new industrial policy aims to create avenues for youth self-employment, while reaffirming his resolve to make Chhattisgarh a Naxal-free state by March 2026, in alignment with Union Home Minister Amit Shah\u2019s vision.<\/p>\n
The Chief Minister marked the event with a major development package of over \u20b983 crore for Dhamtari district. He announced the establishment of a new college at Kareli Badi and a new Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at G. Jamgaon. Additional measures included the merger of Kareli Badi and Khatti villages into a Nagar Panchayat, the expansion of the urban water supply scheme in Kurud and Bhakhara at a cost of \u20b930 crore, and approval of \u20b945 crore for the construction of the Baronda Anicut. Further allocations comprised \u20b92 crore for development works in Kurud Nagar Panchayat, \u20b91.5 crore for Bhakhara Nagar Panchayat, and \u20b95 crore for repair of the Khatti Anicut.<\/p>\n
In recognition of growing urban needs, Sai also announced municipal council status for Kurud. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma complemented these announcements with the promise of constructing a Gaurav Path in Bhendri.<\/p>\n
Deputy CM Sharma, in his address, underlined that schemes like Mahatari Vandan Yojana have significantly strengthened women economically, while Atal Digital Seva Kendras have ensured delivery of essential financial services in villages. District Minister-in-charge Tankaram Verma, MP Roopkumari Chaudhary, and Kurud MLA Ajay Chandrakar also addressed the program, with Chandrakar extending a warm welcome to the Chief Minister.<\/p>\n
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, along with MPs, MLAs, and public representatives from other districts, joined the ceremony virtually, while nearly two lakh women across the state participated online. Earlier, the Chief Minister toured exhibitions and stalls highlighting departmental initiatives and distributed materials and cheques to beneficiaries. Principal Secretary Niharika Barik Singh provided a detailed presentation on the Mahatari Sadan project, underscoring its role in strengthening grassroots women\u2019s empowerment.<\/p>\n
