TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 26, 2025: Chhattisgarh, often called the rice bowl of India, is witnessing a wave of relief and enthusiasm among its farmers following the implementation of GST reforms under GST 2.0. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai on Friday made a surprise visit to a tractor showroom in Devpuri during the ongoing GST Savings Festival, where he personally interacted with farmers, handed over keys of tractors and harvesters, and listened to their experiences of saving through reduced GST rates.<\/p>\n

One such farmer, Ravi Kumar Sahu<\/strong> from Biroda, Abhanpur, could hardly contain his joy. He shared that he had initially planned to buy a second-hand harvester but was able to purchase a brand-new one thanks to GST relief, saving nearly \u20b92 lakh<\/strong>. \u201cI never dreamed I would own a new harvester. Now, with this machine, I will not only work on my two acres but also help fellow farmers in the village,\u201d he said, expressing gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai for their farmer-friendly initiatives.<\/p>\n

Similarly, Gyanik Ram Sahu<\/strong>, a senior farmer from Abhanpur Kolar, received the keys to his new tractor directly from the Chief Minister. He said the GST reduction allowed him to save \u20b960,000<\/strong>, which he described as a blessing during the festive season. \u201cThis saving means my family can celebrate the festival with greater joy,\u201d he said warmly.<\/p>\n

Dealers too confirmed the impact of GST reforms. Ashok Agarwal<\/strong>, owner of the tractor showroom, noted a sharp rise in sales and enthusiasm among customers. \u201cA tractor earlier priced at \u20b910.25 lakh is now available at \u20b99.75 lakh, saving farmers \u20b950,000. Similarly, tractors worth \u20b97.62 lakh and \u20b96.51 lakh have dropped by \u20b941,000 and \u20b940,000 respectively. Harvesters too have become more affordable,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

The relief is not limited to agriculture alone. Chief Minister Sai also visited a Bajaj Bike Showroom<\/strong> in Sai Devpuri, where he spoke with customers enjoying the benefits of GST reductions. M.D. Gulab<\/strong>, a resident of Santoshi Nagar, purchased a new Bajaj Platina 110cc bike and saved \u20b97,000<\/strong>. \u201cThe bike earlier cost \u20b989,000 but is now available at \u20b982,000,\u201d he said after receiving the keys from the Chief Minister.<\/p>\n

Speaking to farmers and consumers, Chief Minister Sai highlighted that GST 2.0, introduced under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is providing \u201creal relief to the common people, farmers, and consumers.\u201d<\/strong> He emphasized that reduced prices of tractors, harvesters, and essential agricultural equipment have directly strengthened farmers\u2019 livelihoods while lowering the financial burden on households.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis GST Savings Festival is not just about lower costs,\u201d Sai said. \u201cIt is about ensuring prosperity for rural households, creating new opportunities for farmers, and bringing festive cheer to families across the state. The reform is boosting economic activity and generating fresh enthusiasm in both rural and urban Chhattisgarh.\u201d<\/p>\n
